Speed painting German Panzergreadies
Hi guys and gals! Here we are with the anticipated tutorial! So let's get down to the various steps! - Ciao a tutti!
STEP 2 - Keeping the spraycan (or the airbrush) over the model head, let's give him a grey undercoat. With this step you will light up exposed areas keeping shadowed the recesses - Tenendo la bomboletta (o l'aerografo) sopra la testa del modello, apllichiamo una base di grigio.
STEP 3 - Let's paint the miniature with base colors.
STEP 4 - Now dip the miniature in Army Painter "Quickshade" (Personally I use the strong tone but feel free to use whatever shade you like). I suggest to let it cure overnight before touching the mini. Now you have your soldiers ready for battle!
STEP 5 (optional) - If you would like that your minis stand out a little more on the battlefield, you could apply some lights to the uniform with a lighter tone of the base colors and a coat of matt varnish if you don't like shiny soldiers!

Panzer III Ausf. J DAK colors
A bit of history from wikipedia!
anzer III Ausf. J - Hull and turret front armour increased to solid 50 mm plate. Some were produced with 5 cm KwK 39 L/60gun and later redesignated Ausf. L.
Panzer III was the common name of a medium tank that was developed in the 1930s by Germany and was used extensively in World War II. The official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen III Sd Kfz. 141 (abbreviated PzKpfw III) translating as "armoured fighting vehicle". It was intended to fight other armoured fighting vehicles and serve alongside the support Panzer IV; however, as the Germans faced the formidable T-34,
stronger anti-tank guns were needed. Since the Panzer IV had a bigger turret ring, the roles were reversed. The Panzer IV mounted the long barrelled 7.5 cm KwK 40 gun and engaged in tank-to-tank battles. The Panzer III became obsolete in this role and for most purposes was supplanted by the Panzer IV. From 1942, the last version of Panzer III mounted the 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24, better suited for infantry support. Production of the Panzer III ended in 1943. However, the Panzer III's capable chassis provided hulls for the Sturmgeschütz III assault gun until the end of the war.

Wittmann Last Tiger
First a bit of history from Warlord Games website....
Michael Wittmann was one of Germany’s most famous ‘panzer aces’ of World War II. During his career he was credited with destroying 138 enemy tanks and 132 anti-tank guns. He fought throughout the war until his death.

In April of 1944 his company was transferred to SS-Heavy Panzer Battalion 101 in Normandy. During the fighting Wittmann was ordered to occupy the small town of Villers-Bocage. Unknown to his commanders the town had already been occupied by the British 22nd Armoured Brigade. Observing elements of the enemy formation advancing along the road out of the town, Wittmann saw his opportunity and struck.
Within a quarter of an hour his five Tiger tanks had destroyed more than a dozen enemy tanks and at least as many other vehicles. His advance against the town had been courageous, but ill prepared and arguably reckless.
In August 1944, as he led a formation in a counter-attack towards Saint-Aignan-de-Cramesnil, his Tiger was caught in crossfire from Sherman Fireflies belonging to the Northamptonshire Yeomanry and the Sherbrooke Fusiliers. A single shot penetrated his tank’s engine compartment causing an ammunition explosion that blew the Tiger apart, throwing the turret some distance from the wreck. Wittmann and his crew were killed instantly.Model is the +Warlord Games - Italeri plastic Tiger I Ausf. E made by me with airbrush colors and weathering medium.
